Thiess Rehabilitation is excited to introduce Isabel Hardy, Senior Mine Rehabilitation Advisor, based in our Brisbane office.
Having worked with Thiess’ Corporate Technical Services team for just over a year, Isabel is helping deliver Thiess Rehabilitation’s services, from tenders and project support to strategy and delivery.
Her day-to-day work includes:
- Researching mining project rehabilitation commitments, challenges and emerging trends to ensure Thiess Rehabilitation remains responsive to the demands in the industry
- Providing project and operations support, including site visits
- Supporting tender submissions
Isabel brings a unique perspective to Thiess Rehabilitation, where she combines her experience in open-cut and underground mines, including supporting rehabilitation and mine closure planning and execution on site, with her corporate governance skills. She is focused on adapting her technical skills to business development and strategy.
Isabel says she is learning about different legislative frameworks around mine rehabilitation in Australia, and globally, and mine rehabilitation in different commodities, and enjoying getting to know her broader network of colleagues, stakeholders and clients.
With public perception and awareness and evolving legislative landscapes increasing pressure on mining companies to perform more land rehabilitation, with better outcomes, the first time around, Isabel says this is driving a need for more knowledge sharing, innovation and improvements in the mine rehabilitation space.
“I’m really excited to be in a position where I can stay on top of changes in the industry and have an impact in implementing our own innovations.”
Welcome, Isabel.
